Safe Return to Port with Intact Ship

The stability of an intact vessel can not be determined statically only, as has been done until now, since in certain weather conditions the vessels to capsized. The current computer technology, communications and sensors allows the crew to perform advanced calculations based on the actual behavior of the ship in the sea. Thus, the IMO is discussing the development of these new stability criteria before implementing them and making them mandatory on vessels, including those of less than 100 m in length that are high risk.

The Expert System for Security of Ship Intact or Safe Return to Port with Ship Intact consists of two sub-modules. The first addresses the control of all the variables that allow the safe return to port in bad conditions of sea. Specifically addresses:
