It is a tool established by the IMO from MARPOL (Annex VI - Regulations for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships), which aims at developing a strategic plan to optimize energy efficiency and reducing air pollution. Its development guarantees the provision of the Certificate International of Energy Efficiency (IEE) that complements the International Certificate of Air Pollution Prevention (IAPP).
